Active and ENGAGED people are less prone to burnout, more efficient at work and in personal achievements. You never cease to be amazed when ENGAGED people find time for everything: work, family, and participation in various activities. The secret is that you can’t be constantly ENGAGED, active, and successful ones also sometimes want to lie on the couch with a favorite TV show or book.

So what is the perfect recipe #beENGAGED: how to keep up and stay enthusiastic? We asked Anastasiia Chaikovska, Internal Communication Specialist at Innovecs, about this.

What’s the most challenging part about being ENGAGED?

When you find yourself among very unengaged people, the hardest part is that they don’t understand you and think you probably belong to a cult where everyone is happy and well. This type of people succeeds in demotivating. They are like “energy vampires” trying to suck all your passion and energy. But please do not succumb to it. You are everything in life. Do what gives you pleasure, and ignore the opinion of ‘slacktivists’. Surround yourself with people as positive and as ENGAGED as you are — that’s the power. I found these in Innovecs 🙂

What helps you stay ENGAGED?

I have no problem being constantly ENGAGED. After all, it’s all in your head – how you think, perceive the world and specific situations. I believe things will always work out for you if you see a purpose and value in it. For me, #beENGAGED is not about a challenge or daring you but a lifestyle that I see as an advantage.

Why is it cool to be ENGAGED?

ENGAGED lifestyle helps me to develop professionally because I do not give up opportunities. I use every offer, initiative as a chance to evolve. Thanks to my active position, I have often found myself at exciting events, met people who helped me a lot in the future, gained the experience I had needed at work.

By being ENGAGED, I feel people’s support, motivation, and inspiration. Every ENGAGED solution seems to bring me a dose of endorphins. I think that I can positively influence the world around me.

What do you need to do to become ENGAGED?

Do sports.

I run a jogging community in Innovecs. Jogging helps me unload and readjust. In addition, I am incredibly excited about following a healthy habit.

Don’t disappear.

The lockdown phase tempts you to hide under a blanket without sticking your nose out of the apartment. However, there is a lot of entertainment online: webinars, games, quests, challenges. For example, InnoHub constantly hosts online events in various areas, and you can become a part of our running community from anywhere. Simply join our chat and start running.

Rise to the new challenges.

Even if the offer seems impossible to you and you think it’s not your cup of tea, you won’t find out till you try it. Take everything from life, and you never know what chance you might miss.

Take some time off.

People are not machines, and we need to rest. Even Elon Musk takes a vacation and spends time with his family. There is always lots of work to do, and it would be a mistake to think that if you stay longer for an hour or two, you will have time to close all tasks. Over time, you will burn out, feel bad, get tired quickly, and have a chronically bad mood. Can you be effective in that state? Hardly.

Set goals.

Goals help us see a clear path that is harder to get off and give up. Make small daily “to do” lists and be sure to set deadlines. Structuring and planning are the best friends of success.

Do not make excuses; find opportunities.

You can always take a step back and stop: refuse to participate, skip the jog, a meeting, or a corporate party. According to our CEO, Alex Lutsky: “You should always accept the offer if the loss is minimal.” Where would Innovecs and we all be now if we didn’t make risky decisions? Use the opportunities that life gives and to be continued.
